What are the Dream Walker figures about?
Crafted from earthy materials respectfully gathered from some some of the most sacred sites in southern Britain.
Similar to the Tree Spirit, Kindred and Hag Spirit figures figures, these are our smaller Dream Walker figures.
They are based on the prehistoric anthropomorphic figures found in Britain and Europe during archaeological excavations. Many of the originals reside in museum collections. These figures are Spirit of Old's take on what prehistoric people were making and using in the area, and an interpretation of their spirituality -
an ancient idea brought forward for use in modern witchcraft.
The Dream Walkers have a defined purpose: protection during sleep. Each figure is created specifically with this in mind, and they are crafted from carefully gathered, earthy materials sourced locally.
The main wood of each Dream Walker is selected from a variety including yew root, hazel and blackthorn from the Stonehenge area, and also from British bog oak from Suffolk, dated to the the Iron Age, so just over two thousand years old. Most, though not all, of the figures are free-standing.
